The world-renown school of culinary, Miatore, has met a worse predicament than any burnt pastry could give them. Long-time rival school of classical music, Lilium, has been forced into a joint arrangement of pure business-means with Miatore in order to keep their doors open. The joining was made possible with the headmaster of Miatore and the mistress of Lilium’s unexpected marriage which has united the schools into one university. The once feuding schools may have fallen under one name, Marmalade, but the nasty rivalry between them still sparks in the hearts of the students and staff of the two very different schools. Despite Marmalade’s internal conflict, a new and more formidable foe has established itself as the number one culinary and classical school in France, headed by one of the country’s most influential politicians. With Parmesia rearing its deadly fangs towards Marmalade, will this fragile unification be strong enough to combat the impending nemesis, or will Parmesia’s frightening popularity shatter the bonds of Marmalade and force them to close their doors once and for all?

I understand that you're only thirteen, but sometimes someone needs to be the mature one in such a situation. Animus and Wooly are right - both of you are victims in your own right, though I use that word loosely, and I think it would do well to sit down with her and talk it out.
My name (or alias, rather) is Nezzy. I am an avid roleplayer, reader and writer, with more than enough time for watching movies, soccer, music and my friends, of course. I am thirteen years old as of this moment, but I do hope that won't be a deterrent. As you see, I refrain from being a rabid fangirl and try to practise correct spelling and grammar. I also hope I don't come across as a posh little girl who has no business here. Anyway, I would love to lurk around, look for help, give what little help I can and make new friends!
By the way, I'm currently working on a little fantasy RPG called The Torn Veil. My very first one! I'd appreciate all the help I can get.
Multi-fantasy genre board- would you join? « Result #12 Today at 11:41am »
Not sure if this is quite the right place to stick this but it seemed like the best bet.
I was recently inspired to make a board that, at the moment, would be a project that I would actually follow through with in the far future (mainly because I'm going to be working on a Star Wars RP with someone soon), but I decided that I should post here to see what the general reaction to it would be. If it seems like there wouldn't be as much interest in it, I probably wouldn't go through with it.
Say you're a fantasy role player, but you don't want to play at a fantasy game because it doesn't suit your interests or there's something about it you don't like (could be the rating, the plot, whatever), or you can't completely commit to a board with one plot due to real life. So what if there was a board for multiple fantasy RP's? It would have historical (medieval/fantasy), futuristic, present day etc role plays for you to participate in. It would have a similar set up to what you would see on a board for multi-genre RP's in general, but would be specific to fantasy role playing. Would you be interested in joining something like that? Do you think a board like that could be successful if it had the right amount of staff members and everything was carefully thought out?
Like I said, this is something I think I might try to do in the far future, but I think it might be interesting to do. I've never really run boards for multiple genre RP's before so I think it would be interesting to try something like this at some point.
Last question is do you have any suggestions for what the board's name could be? I was kind of thinking of doing something like "Chronicles of (name)" but then people might think that it's a board for one plot and not multiple role plays, so I'd rather have something that would help to make it kind of obvious that it's for multiple fantasy genres...if that makes sense.
The only other name I've really come up with is "Role Player's Utopia" but I'm still kind of iffy about that one. Thanks in advance to anyone who answers this! ^_^

No, do not lawl. You're insulting her for being overweight. You're antagonizing her. Did you only start doing it after she made some comment to you? Then you need to stop. She's fighting back because you're insulting her. Tell her off. Tell her that's she's being a jerk. But don't go calling her mean names simply because she's overweight and you think that it's funny. You're the jerk then, more so than she is for making a comment that the present you got is silly. You're thirteen. Realize that you're both being idiots and try to grow. You have a problem with your anger because she's said stuff to your friends? Think about it. You're young to need a therapist. You more just need to think.

Human/Male/Thirtyish « Result #22 Today at 2:20am »
Name of RP: Evil Eyes - The Mummy Link to RP: Info here or here. Description of RP: Evil Eyes is based on the modern remake of The Mummy and its first sequel, The Mummy Returns. Therefore it's a mash-up of genres: one part action-adventure, one part horror, one part AU history thrown in the blender and set to high speed. The vengeful high priest Imhotep is back and ready to destroy the world. Who will save us all?
Description of Character needed:
AKHOM KNEPH MENMA'ATRE
thirtyish. male. warrior. djed. jason momoa. Akhom Menma'atre is known amongst the Djed for three things: his appetite for the drink, his huge laugh, and his prowess on the battlefield. Akhom is a fine warrior and, furthermore, he knows it, which makes him rather boisterous and something of a showboat; in the words of his leader and best friend Sutekh Marenaser, "...his mouth usually runs like a gazelle." But to his credit, Akhom can walk the walk as well as he can talk the talk, so those who dismiss his considerable martial talents because of his mouth do so at their own peril.
Other Details: As the blurb above says, Akhom is a warrior and the BFF of his faction's leader, Sutekh Marenaser (played by myself). I'd like to see him adopted for a few reasons: one, certain events in Evil Eyes are coming up that would be more interesting with Akhom in play; I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to RP some evolution of their friendship with all the rather heavy events coming up. Two, us EE folks desperately need some folks to fill the Djed ranks. Lastly, it would be nice to have a character that doesn't totally hate Sutekh's guts. ^_^;
Anyway. I'm pretty flexible about character details - things like age, play-by, and the like can be changed to suit a potential applicant's preferences. I'd like to keep the basic personality and vague background the same, but at the same time I'd be more willing to listen to interested party's ideas. =D That said, if you're interested, hit me up on PM here or on YIM at faces_of_luck.

Colors- 7/10 I'd have to give you a 8/10 for the neutral but darker main brown color, as it blends with the board colors a bit much, but otherwise, the link colors paired with the skin colors are fairly pleasing to the eye.
Logo+stuff- 6/10 I have to agree with Rocan, that the red eyes of the wolves changes the attitude and the whole feel of the image with the skins a bit. The placement of the words is unique and interesting, but also I do agree that it's hard to read, especially with the colors fairly close. So is the subtitle, while it's black, it's a bit hard to read seeing that it's so small and in another unique position, even though the title and the subtext do somewhat match in their positions. The rest isn't too bad.
Originality- 7/10 The placing and order of side bars and that stuff is a little more unusual to me, but it's again, unique. Though the relative things could be placed together to create more of a whole look when reading. otherwise your originality is pretty good.
Other- 8/10 The affiliates-I would also have to say they could be placed more differently and perhaps together, but I guess that's just personal prefrences.
total: 28/40
comments-I had fun rating your skin!!! I think it's pretty good!

People do stupid things when they want things. I had a crazy uncle. I say he's crazy because he was diagnosed with schizophrenia when he was younger. (Got him a discharge from the military so he could live on the government's $$$ for the rest of his life) BUT anyway that's besides the point. He FOUGHT with my grandfather for YEARS over a tragedy in their family's past but after my grandfather died my uncle was all over his house trying to take things.
Years later when my uncle died alone (it was sad but I will not go into the details) we found a shrine to my grandfather in his tiny very cluttered apartment including some of his military medals among other things. Some of my grandmother's jewelry and old stained table cloths. It wasn't even valuable some of it, but he'd horded it away like it was all some kind of treasure.

Yeah, it is all about money. It used to be everything but that! family, fun, togetherness… It used to be peace, and now we’re in a family feud war over money. Well, not really my father. He could care less as stated before. It would be nice, but he’s not a greedy man. But what his brothers did to him, to my grandfather, even to me… it’s just sickening. I hate seeing my whole family torn like this and at each other’s throats… All this manipulating and all these lies are getting me so stressed and upset. Ugh! I’m sorry to hear that about your grandmother. D: *kicks your aunt*

Maybe one of my games would be to your taste? :3
Remnants of the Earth is an original dystopian sci-fi fantasy game where magic and technology collides. Why do we rock? Let us list the ways!
We've got four gritty countries ranging from a military dictatorship run by dragons and the humans they're bonded with to space stations populated by pirates, plus one wicked corporation that's got its fingers in all the pies. Espionage, motorcycle racing, pop stars, Amish-like communities, slave abolitionists, spin the bottle, and pie. Yep. Lots of pie. <3 In other words, a nice mixture of dark, serious plots interspersed with fun, light-hearted ones. A wonderful community with friendly players, awesome writers, and interesting character dynamics! Blessedly short apps/profiles, meant to appeal to both players who prefer to fill out an app upfront and those that prefer to develop their characters through play. No word minimums; quality over quantity. PBs optional, not required; you may use art or photography. A dedicated player base minus the cliques. A player-driven game where what you do actually affects the plot, and a world that is constantly developing and growing. A community that's been going strong since September of 2007. Srsly, we ain't no one-month game.
Connlaoth: A kingdom where mages are hunted as criminals and magic is a death sentence. Adela: A warlike people boasting the unmatched power of dragonriders. And Serendipity, caught between the two, struggling always for an elusive and lasting peace.
Here you will find exotic city-states and thriving kingdoms, miles of untamed wilderness to explore and untold adventures to discover. Here gather the highborn and low, the fettered and free, the innocent and corrupt, to tell their stories.
Original high fantasy in a medieval setting. Going strong for 8 years...this game will never die on you! Always active and forever friendly! IC posts made every day. Epic, growing world that you can contribute to directly. Admins always available and approachable. Laid back, drama-free community. Joining is fast and simple. Tons of countries, cultures, and locations for you to explore!
Re: How do you keep a site running a long while? « Result #33 Yesterday at 8:45pm »
I think the other thing is that you need to avoid seeing a 'lull' in activity as a reason to SHUT DOWN!!! OMG!
I've played on a few sites that shut down prematurely because the admins were tired of it rather than because the players were. On smaller boards the activity level can ebb and swell with the seasons, school, work, and vacation time. Once your board has attracted some solid dedicated players you need to keep them and reassure them that if they go away for awhile they can always come back. You want your forum to not just be a place for RP but a place to hang out and then there will always be people there.
Beyond that, you need to make sure your site is reliably hosted. Can you get quick answers if your server goes down for some reason? Do you have a cbox at a separate URL that players can visit to chat even if your server is down?
You might even keep your most active players' email addresses handy on the side in case for some reason something does happen to your site and you need to direct them to a new URL.
Admin activity is VERY important to keeping a site going. When the admin disappears for a long time the players worry and they go away. They lose interest, they stop visiting and soon there's no one there. That also means that you need to be aware of when you need help (moderators, a co-admin or something of that sort) or when you need to move on. My site was given to me by its former admin and I've been looking after it since. The last big lull was because I didn't really have the energy to invest in it, but I assured the players it wasn't shutting down and there's been activity pretty consistently despite my lack of presence (albeit sparse).
But the Admin has a critical role of keeping the site LOOKING active, and pulling new players into the site. You're ensuring a steady flow of new players by advertising and approving players for the game. You're cleaning up dead threads so characters can continue to take on new ones. You're introducing new ideas and content. You're kicking out the troublemakers and pruning out spam. Even when I was not as active on my boards I was still visiting every now and again to say hello in the chatbox and take care of assorted essentials. Broken things got fixed. Ad links got pruned. Queries were answered.

The reason she acts the way to does to you is probably because of your insults to her about her weight. She doesn't show it, but it's probably very hurtful to her. Judging by how both of you are acting, I'm thinking this is just something you'll have to grow out of in the next few years, but you're certainly not the only "victim" in this situation.
Re: "Ideal" Forums « Result #35 Yesterday at 8:00pm »
I haven't been around a whole lot either but with renewed interest I am here at long last! hah
I have a site that has been semi-active for the last 3 years or so. I've seen it undergo many a transformation and each time I see something that I might want to do different later.
I think avatars are great, but it sucks when you have a lot of different and contrasting pictures floating around on the forum and it's also kind of disconsolate to the player who isn't that artistically gifted to have to come up with a picture on the fly. I don't like the thought that good writers might end up feeling like 2nd class citizens because they don't possess super wow photoshop skills and have to ask someone else to do it for them.
My solution to that was to create default avatars for the different groups on my forum. No avatar? No problem, I'll give you one til you decide you really want one. In the meantime you don't look like a corny faceless person and you're NOT a 2nd class citizen.
As for anime vs realistic. That never mattered much to me. Either way, I don't like to see them posted all over a site's base graphics because it's just like saying "I can't draw but I know how to mish mash pictures together in a pretty way." Then again I've been known to get my camera to snap random pictures of things so I could generate graphics for my site. I am not an artist but I do like photoshop and I do crazy things like that.
I like my site to have a coherent color scheme. It needs to be readable. I can't stand text that's too teeny or lacks sufficient contrast.
I LOOK at other peoples' sites for ideas. Hell, sometimes I'll screenshot a page because I like the color scheme and might use it myself someday. I don't steal graphics but sometimes it's silly to reinvent the wheel when it comes to layout and color ideas. I also visit sites on CSS and so forth but that's because I'm also a codemonkey who enjoys meddling with phpbb3 (even wrote some custom mods for my site ).
I've been in the market for a new site for myself a few times in the last year. I guess I consider myself something of an old-school RPer. I don't like to see a site with a lot of unnecessary font garbage splatted on the front page or ultra-not-as-fancy-as-you-think punctuation. I don't like 'plot' pages (and never use them on my own site... if you're pre-planning a relationship then RP it out or talk about it in chat, don't write it in rainbow colors) for all the time spent color-coding a character's heart's desires one could have written a weeks worth of RP posts. I've written plot pages before. I took it to another level graphics-wise and wowed the people I was writing with but when the site died a few weeks later because the admin vanished without a word for over a month that was all wasted effort on my part (what a way to kill players' interest in RP!!!)
The site I've been most impressed with (other than my own which I love to death because I have sculpted it with my own hands) has kept things very simple. Most players there don't even have graphics in their sigs has got me frustrated because of a lack of posting. I joined, I consumed as much of the setting material as I could and I posted starter threads for my character. I even got to post with someone for a little while but like a week later I stopped getting any interest in my threads. Yet another way to kill interest in a site is to ignore your newest posters. Yeah I know people get busy around the holidays but even a once a week post would be a nice way to keep a hapless player like myself coming back. Now it could be because I suck as a writer but that's unlikely given how many years I've been doing this so I suspect it is more a clique thing and I'm just not in the clique. I know, my board gets them too, but they're kind of hard to get rid of.
But what I liked about the site most is that it's got a pretty bland, straightforward skin. It doesn't have a lot of flashy graphics and rather than having ultra-huge avatars they kept them at 100x100px and looking at the site and thinking about it I realized that the graphics shouldn't speak for the site. The site should speak for itself.
It shouldn't matter what skin your forum wears as long as the content is presented coherently and accessibly to your players. Everything else is icing and should be treated as such.
Re: Please Judge My Skin. « Result #36 Yesterday at 7:59pm »
First Impression: Nice somber colors and look wolves. lol
Colors: 6/10 - While I like the dark brown tons on some computers your skin color choices would make it very hard to navigate. Because it would be so hard to see on a darker screen resolution I have to take out some points. Especially with the boarder color matching in with the board. Also having the background color and the category color being the same make the board blend in a little too much, nothing is defined or stands out. I think the light blue is a nice font choice but having your text input as plain white when nothing else is... I'm just not a fan of that.
Logo Image: 5/10 - The red eyes, even if you have wolves with red eyes, look very displaced with the image and take away from the natural depth of a the wolves beautiful eyes. The white outline of the image is off with the rest of your site. While giving credit is good giving it in the image itself is distracting, couldn't you give credit in the side bar? The writing on the wolves is hard to read and somewhere on the banner I would have still put the name of your site flat so that it is easy for people to register in their minds that this is Alkomari. Havign to tilt your head to read just distracts from the image. Also not one of these colors is in your skin using this image and taking some of the green as an accent would have improved it matching up to your site skin.
Originality: 5/10 - You've arranged a few things differently than I've seen on some other sites but nothing major. You have also used some nice codes for color and font variations that aren't on other sites but overall the skin doesn't stand out very much.
Codes & Others: 7/10 - You do have some original coding, however in a few places I'm not a fan of them. Having your affiliates split up on the site I'm not very fond of but also the position of your scrolling affiliates distracts from your logo and pushes your boards to far from it. You do have other nicely done codes and most of the set-up is done nicely.
Comments & Thoughts: Overall I like the skin fine, but nothing really makes it stand out. The fact that it really can't be seen well on a darker screen can be a big factor for some potential members. And I think maybe a different logo image that incorporates the blues you use would be nice. Overall though I do enjoy the skin and I would say it has a lot more going for it then it does have against it.
Total Rate: 23/40 - again it has more going for it then it does against it and overall a very nice job.

I'm fine with people having complaints or such about my sites; but they should make sure they actually know what they are complaining about!
This is what some idiot guest posted in my cbox- Quote:
Double Batman: Wait, not only are face claims mandatory, but I have to choose a character from your list? How uncreative are you people? Oh, and a word count. Because flowery prose makes up for having no originality
Now bashing in a cbox is kind of crap anyways but when you don't even know what you are talking about... This is what our rules say.
Quote:
your face claim - you will choose who to use on your application, and it cannot be changed. you will also be unable to use any characters that are already on our face claim roster.
Notice how no where in that rule does it mention you having to pic a face claim from any list. My only other thoughts is that maybe this random person is talking about our sites canon list, but nowhere does it make it sound like you have to play a canon... because you don't. And I'm not sure if they are also bashing having a word count or saying that it doesn't make up for something... I don't know clearly this person has never read our rules "correctly" and should have their fat ass foot taken out of their mouth. I mean if you are going to complain about something know what the hell you are talking about otherwise you sound like a moron.
Has anyone else had some similar case of someone dissing your site in the cbox, of all places, without knowing what the hell they were talking about?

They want his money, simple as that. My grandma died and things were supposed to get split up amongst my dad and my grandma's grandchildren. She originally had two sons (my dad and his brother), but my dad's brother died. Our family has 7 people and my aunt's (my dad's brother's wife) only has three (herself and her two kids), but regardless of that, she felt that she deserved half of everything my grandma had because her dead husband was my grandma's son. My aunt was a b*tch and my grandma hated her, so she didn't leave much for her. Just her two kids. But regardless, my aunt took us to court and my grandma's will was thrown out the door. After over a year of fighting it, we couldn't afford to continue (we could barely afford to start) and she ended up getting half. My aunt never cared about my grandma, nor us. She was just greedy and wanted my grandma's money.

They requested the affiliation with my site. I don't think I should give a link to the forum, since I don't want to start shit, but it was some Star Wars forum. And I have no idea--they have 9 members, we (at the time) had 70-something and around 20 online in the past 24 hours that day, so I have no idea where they get off saying their members are better/more active than mine. I noticed someone ELSE came into their Cbox saying that they hadn't put up their button--so surely it WASN'T just my site and me somehow "missing" it (despite checking the page source for our URL).

I just stared at her before saying, 'Um....Bronte, you are sad, you are seriously going to keep that snow globe until you are forty?' Then just ignored her. We have been fighting loads because she was going to move school! ALLEJUYA! We encourage creativity and reinterpretation of characters in order for everyone to have the most fun possible!
Color Choices or Ideas: Well, not too much pink... if any?
Ideas For The Plot: Just the basics. Friends, enemies, loves and other. Preferebly a larger enemies section?
Extra Information: Well, preferrebly something less pop/Taylor Swift? A bit of rock? The character's a bit of a cold b*tch - just for background info. Other than that, I'm not fussy. Thanks!

Sorry if I don't Answer any of your questions, trying to watch the new Harry potter, lawl! But yes, the Ghosts can actually reproduce, eat and drink if they want but don't really need to. But with Reproducing, they can but the offspring has a very good chance to be sterile and the Daemons/familars would have other animals souls inside, a kind of black magic, so a monkey inside of the Daemon.
I knew there was a reason I like face-claims so much, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it until I read this. I can usually do physical descriptions alright, but it's the face that's always lacking in detail. This may well be a failure in writing on my part, but I usually have problems picturing faces in books and other non-visual mediums as well.
Plus, finding art and giving proper credit where it's due can be sort of a pain. D: And while I am tired of seeing Robert Pattenson, Kristin Stewart, Taylor ________, and others PBs who are superpopular at the moment, it's not that hard to find a unique-looking PB.
I really don't think that it's a writing failure if you have difficulty visualising a character's face. After all, very few good book authors spend long describing physical appearance - it's the least important part of a character and readers prefer it if the plot starts moving as soon as possible.
I don't really have a problem with seeing superpopular faces being used - as long as it fits the character, who really cares? I've used all sorts of faces from relatively unknown models to Bollywood stars to - dare I say it - KStew. Other than Twilight (which I mostly slept through) I've never seen a single film of hers, but she looks exactly how I imagine the character - a skinny, awkward-looking teenage girl who doesn't wash her hair as often as she should.
As I said in my post up there, though, it bugs me that some people base their characters so much on the PBs or the characters they act on TV or in films. Like, for instance, every character I see using Kaya Scodelario as a face is exactly like Effy Stonem. I once had one applying on my site where the only difference (literally the only one) was the name. Now that is uncreative. If people want to roleplay a character from TV, why don't they just join a canon site set in that universe rather than an original one with nothing to do with it?

My forum was once described as 'Medeival Fantasy' but I was telling someone the other day it's probably more Renaissance these days, but there's a fair bit of high magic and steampunk in the mix too just because.
I think Ulka would fit into our setting. We have nobility and maids. We've been moving away from that since the forum has shifted focus but that does not change that the 'Ethian nobility' are still part of the big picture.
Anyway you're welcome to check us out.

Welcome to Ethus, an original fantasy setting with magic, dragons, and nine playable races. A forum based RP we've been an active community for several years. Our current storyline is quite developed but we have recently updated our current plots and are eager to invite in some new players.
Aganthis: A City in Descent
Our newest setting is that of Aganthis, a floating ruin that is threatening to fall out of the sky. Since it's rediscovery it has been repopulated and those living there are searching for answers at the floating island's heart. It's a place for dangerous beasts and stoic wizards yet also a tourist attraction. Characters can become trainers of dragons, delve into the city's darkest tunnels, or seek supremacy of a council of master wizards.
Onise: A City by the Sea
The half-undersea city of Onise has had its problems on and off, but today its largest problem is an infestation of unwanted mer-people. They came from far and wide for a religious celebration and have since overstayed their welcome. Loud partying disrupts the shoreline beach day in and day out. Even the local mer-people are displeased with the latest turn of events, but these changes may herald a shift in the city's religious tides.
Most of all we like to let players develop their own plots and bring them to life. If you've never seen us before or you've known us in the past, stop in and have a look. We'd love to have you.

AS is a fairly stable RP. We've been alive and kicking for 3 years. Attendance is down of late so we're not as active as we once were but I recently did a revamp (in which I was very careful not to disrupt existing threads) I don't believe in tossing everything out the door whenever we want to freshen things up, partly because I hate the heartache of abandoning characters or threads due to inactivity.
We like to have players who use proper grammar and spelling but we haven't historically turned away people who were creative and enthusiastic about the game over grammatical issues.
We are a Fantasy site. The closest thing we have to Human/Horses is the Osai race which are a band of desert warriors who have dragon-horse companions. You're welcome to check us out if you haven't already found a home.

Hey, I figured I'd point you my way at least briefly. We're an old site. (Have had an ad here on RPGC since '06 so we've been around for awhile) also that means our setting has gotten a bit bloated out with information but I've tried to keep the intro materials down to a sensible size (no more than a page of info + a page for geography for any particular city setting (and you don't have to read about EVERY city to play in one). It might still be too much for your comfort level, but we are starting to add some things like undead zombies and whatnot. The setting info is compiled in a wiki such that it is very searchable and I hope, sensibly linked together. We don't really have weres but we have magic users who can change into animal shapes.
It's an original setting though so what we do and where we go with various ideas tends to be dependent on what the players want to do.
For face claims, we've traditionally had a requirement that people have something for an avatar (doesn't have to be realistic) but since I redid the site that's not even necessary since I made some default avvys for people to use that match the skin. Signature banners are also not a requirement. (Which reminds me that I should make sure the rules don't say anything contrary)

LOL I can relate to the 'no animals' thing. My site's not new. We've actually had an ad here on RPGC since '06! And believe it or not we have a few players who've been with us that long.
Attendance has slacked off a bit of late so we're looking for some fresh blood and we've opened up a new section of the forums with some new plot fodder but as always the site is continuing to grow and change.
We don't have animals but we do have humanoid characters who can magically shapeshift into animals.

Yeah, Alice on Sci-Fi and the upcoming Tim Burton film is making people go Alice In Wonderland crazy lately so I hear where the muse comes from. Honestly, I do.
It is just that I've seen so many Alice In Wonderland sites lately and they are all the same, just a little different and from what I've seen, most have gone inactive and people have lost interest rather quickly just because I suppose it is since it is the same thing all over again, nothing that is original or different... You just need to find a twist that might make your site stand out against the rest of the Alice In Wonderland sites out there.
It isn't like Twilight or Harry Potter where the fan base is crazy huge that the same members will join a zillion different sites that are all the same because they are full of fandom. My first go of The Bell Jar was great because it was the only site like it out at the time but when I reopened it, it did horribly because it was the time where it began to become a fade... and it is hard to stand out when there are so many of the same things. Like I said, come up with an original twist maybe

Well another idea my friend had was that the Queen of Hearts has seized everyone, taken complete control over Wonderland and locked everyone inside the castle somewhere, I don't remember it off the top of my head. I thought that was kind of random.... and didn't really make any sense.... I mean she would just cut off there heads wouldn't she? But I was watching a movie today on Scifi and was intrigued with something, what if she had a reason not to cut off there heads? Like she was searching for something that would enable her more rule, or power? But I think that is still a little out there and doesn't add up entirely.

So I just finished reading "The Lost Symbol" the other day and for some reason I really really really want to make an RPG based on that trilogy (The DaVinci Code/Angels & Demons/The Lost Symbol) but the thing is, I don't know how I'd pull it off. I'm not smart enough/don't have enough of an attention span to come up with an epic secret that the world's hiding and a complicated trail of clues to find it. And quite frankly, I don't think the members would be smart enough to follow the kinds of clues I'd come up with. And I don't know how I'd present these clues. If anything, it would be some sort of alternate-universe, post-TLS type of deal with mild symbolic elements to it, and maybe a puzzle or two to solve along the way... Anyone got any ideas on how to pull this off? o3o

I did that whole rebel vs. queen thing on my alice in wonderland site. To be honest, I've seen a lot of Alice In Wonderland sites lately. I think it's become overused & they are all the same. The thing is, there isn't much on an Alice & Wonderland site that you can do that someone else hasn't done before you, if not better. It doesn't bring much creativity or originality into play. If you are looking for something that is going to gain loyal members & popularity, with all the ones running around right now, I'm not sure this would be your best option.

Alice In Wonderland Plot & Ideas! « Result #67 Yesterday at 1:09am »
The Site Pot When __ year old Alice falls down a rabbit whole, her whole world changes. The world she thought was boring and dull, is now colorful and wild. She finds herself in a new world called, Wonderland. Wonderland is a world of mystery and excitement. Everywhere you look is a place of madness and confusion. Alice is the only human in Wonderland, and all eyes are on her to help the rebels to try and defeat the evil Queen of Hearts, ruler of the Eastern and Western sides of Wonderland.
Which side will you choose? And how will the war between the Rebels and Queen of Hearts fair out? Join Teacup of Madness today and find out!
The History The Royal Family has ruled over the Western part of Wonderland for years now. The Western part of Wonderland is the most prosperous part of Wonderland itself, as well as the most advanced and cultural. The Royal Family considers the other parts of Wonderland to be uncivilized and disgusting. They seem to think anyone that lives outside of the Western area is nothing but dirt and grime. It has been the Royal Family’s goal to take over the other areas of Wonderland and make them more 'proper' and well suited for their needs.
With Red Heart, The Queen of Hearts, being the oldest and next in line for rule over the Royal Family, it is her job to see that the Royal Family’s goals are met. With her vengeance and strong rule, she has managed to take over the Eastern part of Wonderland. Doing this, the Southern and Northern parts of Wonderland have banded together to try and take down the Royal Family and save what little is left of Wonderland, they call themselves the Rebels.
We are an original Alice In Wonderland roleplaying site. What do you think of our plot and back history? I am the co-admin, but most of the idea was mine. We still have not decided if we want to have it to where you only roleplay as fairy tale characters from storybooks and movies, or too allow both & give members the opportunity to make their own character from Wonderland. We will have all of the characters from the story/movie itself, with the option of maybe playing other fairy tale characters from other books. What do you think?

Haven't got a clue.
My sister said that if I downloaded all the music she wants (cause I have limewire and she don't) then she'll get me an ipod ... but who knows which one. It could be an itouch or her old one (a shitty 1gb nano). I'd really like an iphone. And a shitload of books. Some new clothes wouldn't be too bad either.
And all this reminds me that I haven't written a "christmas list" for my relatives. They always ask, and always end up getting me money anyways. Kinda rediculous. But whatever.

Need staff for Vampyre / Werewolf RPG. « Result #70 Yesterday at 12:09am »
Hey guys. I'm thinking about starting up a Vampyre RPG with some hints of werewolves in there. This ISN'T by any means a take on Twilight, nor any of the other mainstream takes on the 'sexy' view of vampyres. I am fully intending to keep the theme at it's original level of complete horror. I'm lightly inspired by a British low-budget series called Being Human.
I understand that this may limit interest somewhat, so to balance it out, I threw a high school in there somewhere, lol.
Anyway, I'm looking for a global moderator 2 moderators and a plot developer to help members with their ideas in an attempt to keep the place active. I'm not really sure if a plot developer is going to be necessary, but since I've never had one before, I thought I'd try it out and see how it goes.
I could possibly use a designer too, but not required, I'm good enough with graphics and decent enough with coding to create a skin.
If you'd like to know more about the forum, let me know!

Hey. I actually had / have two rpg's based around zombies. They both died (haha! No pun intended...) due to lack of interest. I really hope your site doesn't go the same way but if you'd like, here's the links to both my sites. Feel VERY free to pick and steal any resources you like from them.
http://theundyingrpg.proboards.com/index.cgi <- this one is based around a small part of a city that we could extend at will if possible. It's based very heavily on an appolcalypse situation, not just a small outbreak. Heavily orientaited on grouping and ganging, something which I thought would be cool, but I don't think the users liked it too much.
http://helmonthigh.proboards.com/index.cgi? <- this one was based around a high school originally, that was quarantined because of something outside of the gates. It was protected by soldiers and every week or so, the staff would come together and release another snippet of what was happening outside. It died, So I revived it set in the future slightly, this time incorparating the quaint town of Helmont...It died again.
Not sure why my stuff dies, perhaps i'm too ambitious for the amount of people joining. Anyway, yeah, feel free to steal stuff from them, or take ideas. I'd be more than willing help you, too, since my muse has been at capacity for many months, with little to spread it's dark, gooey inspiration over. Ew, that sounds gross....
Skin Color Scheme and Inspiration? « Result #73 on Dec 6, 2009, 11:24pm »
I need help deciding on a color scheme for my street dog RPG called Rejected Salvation. I started it a long time ago, and want to finish it. A friend of mine helped out with the codes using them from her site, so that's fine. The problem is that the colors are all pink tones, not exactly what I had in mind for the site.
HERE is the plot. Realize it was written a long time ago, and the writing ability is not very high at all. The plot will be fleshed out, made a little more risky and dark and such, but that's the basic outline of it.
I'm at a loss, right now. I can make my own images and such, but the color scheme and inspiration for the banner and things is evading me.

Just saying that Transylvania was actually a part of Hungary until WW1. I'm not too familiar with the Dracula book but I'm pretty sure the original Count is supposed to be of Szekely descent which is a Hungarian family. Not sure how this would affect your RPG if you make it around that theme but hey, fun fact.

dark fantasy 8D [need opinions please <3] « Result #88 on Dec 6, 2009, 3:23pm »
I love dark fantasy. xD I love the medieval times too. And what more fun than setting it in what's known to the locals as a cursed country?
This is a very rough sketch too. I've had ideas bouncing off the walls for this one. So see which version you like I guess? xD
So, welcome to Romania HUNGARY -coughcoughthanksisis-, but more specifically the small little place known as Transylvania. You know the tale of Dracula, where his enemies' heads are placed on pikes and displayed around the perimeter of the castle. He's known to drink blood occasionally which gives him the feared respect of the locals. No matter what time it is, the land hears the cries of those imprisoned on the inside of his great and haunting castle.
Legends of vampires run rampant, legends of human-wolves too. But unfortunately not only those two. The locals have seen monsters, beasts, demons, disfigured creatures; this land is haunted with the blood of innocent and guilty victims, all mutilated, all spilled out across the land. There are ghosts, there are were creatures, there are spirits of everything that surrounds them.
. . . . something to that effect. I think I would only allow dark creatures first, so there aren't any elves or unicorns. D: It's medieval fantasy, but I'd need to do my research on Transylvania to see the culture, etc.
AND THE NEXT ONE
Set in medieval times still, the people live in poverty and are ruled by a higher creature. Demon, were creature, vampire, monster, giant, who knows? He keeps his face and body covered with thick material when he makes his presence; his voice is rasped and the only thing they can see are his eyes, or perhaps where his eyes would be if he had them.
In this town there is no escape. The land is rampant with witches, sorcerers who make it literally impossible to escape the country. Sure it's large, but who would want to travel outside of the safe bounds of the town? So long as the people stay where they are placed, they are free to roam, unless they catch the sight of a hungry creature, that is. So long as they abide by the rules though, more often than not, they'll be fine. Oh, and there is a curfew. . . perhaps you should heed it?
Outside these lands are even more horrific creatures that are only in myths. Cyclopses, demons, and other mutilated creatures who guard the boarders and occasionally fight with one another. They are banned from the town because they cut down on the human food source. Sure, those who are captives of war can occasionally sedate them, but for the most part these creatures are even more monstrous than those who live in the town. But the most feared of all is the king.
And that's all I got. =/ I was thinking maybe like a country beside it that has unicorns and rainbowz and elves! xD Well, seriously, maybe like angels and stuff? After all, they're usually the food supply when the two countries go to war, and of course I'll make maybe another country that is owned predominantly by humans, or creatures who can pull off looking human. :3
I was sort of wanting the people in this cursed town to have to wear masks or something to make them look more "fearsome" like if they didn't want to catch the attention of a creature, they would wear something over their face and cover their body, representing one of these feared creatures. That's how they would gain respect. Otherwise they're fair game to anything that wants to kill / eat them.
I'm not sure where I would stand with slaves in this town; I mean it would be highly likely, but I don't want everyone making a slave. If they did, the slave would have to be very submissive, or otherwise they would be committing suicide.
Meh. Just some ideas that were forming around in my head. I could possibly do a combination but I haven't gotten that far yet. Tell me what you think?

There are tears in the fabric of space and time.
Two worlds, much like our own in design, overlap one another in the space-time continuum, yet exist in different dimensions. One is a world very close to our own, mimicking our modern day society and even going as far to be a slightly alternate Earth, with technology slightly ahead of our own. The other is like the old kingdoms of the medieval period, ruled by kings and protected by knights, and its people are capable of using great magical abilities.
For centuries, the two have existed without recognition of one another, but the universe is beginning to unravel.
Within the last century, permanent and temporary tears have opened up, allowing people from both the modern world and the medieval world to wander through - some find their way back again, others are stranded in their new home forever, whilst a select few decide to travel between the two worlds for their own personal reasons. These instances are few and far between, and save for a new missing person's story or the assumption that a family member is dead, little is ever reported about the cases.
But now new tears are beginning to open, and more people are wandering into worlds they don't belong in. The citizens of Glaisemount are beginning to fear that there is a serial killer in their midst, whilst the people of Mercandas are beginning to whisper tales of a monstrous creature that prays on their kingdom. The ordinary folk are getting restless, and their rulers don't know what to do.
But then the king of Mercandas dies - assassinated, if you believe the rumours - and potential heirs have begun to fight amongst themselves, each gaining support from the peasants. Meanwhile, the police of Glaisemount have arrested a group of unruly citizens dressed in medieval clothing and carrying sharp weapons - only to find they possess unearthly abilities, the likes of which they've never seen before.
And all the while, the tears are growing, and people are beginning to question:
Close your eyes. Imagine London. Now take a giant boot, and flatten the city.
For 6 years now, people have been running, hiding, dying. Scared and panicking, the human race is almost extinct. Towns and cities no longer stand, everything is in ruin.
London was one of the last great sanctuaries to fall. It had held strong for 4 years, housing those who survived. In the end it couldn't last. Like the rest of the world, London was swarmed.
All that remains now is a run down, demolished shell of this once busy city. Everywhere is dead and decaying and there is next to nothing left to salvage. Buildings crumbled, plants died and the Thames became almost toxic.
Despite all this, many people hide in the city as it is the 'cleanest' area in England because it was the last stronghold of the United Kingdom. How long this can last, no one knows...

Silent Faith is a Human, Stray/Sled Dog, Fighting Dog, and Wolf RPG. Before I go on, I do not support dog fights in any shape or form. Why is it there, you may ask? It's a very unfortunate fact of life, so after SF's first crash I added in a fighting ring to put some action in. With that said, I'm trying to start over fresh and keep this site as active as possible. I'm going to be advertising like crazy and some help would be greatly appreciated. Anyway, I hope to see some y'all there.
