I'm too lazy to read all the above posts, but when I was advertising my own RPG, I just put the ad image up and not the link. I did this on like several different forums. So I had to go back and reply to my own threads with the link. xD I felt really retarded.

I just did that. Today. Multiple times. I was linking back over a page of advertisements for my site (and I'm still doing that atm o.o). Anyway, I mixed up the name and subject.... and I didn't notice that for like.... six or seven advertisements (Firefox suggests the stuff to put in the text field so I only have to click on it... if it makes sense o.o). Then I thought about how stupid I was and went to fix it when I was advertising on a site that required 'lb' in the name. So I went ahead and put 'DTM ADMIN, LB' as the title..... That went on for another few advertisements, and now I'm just being very careful -.-

I was posting my proboards ad on a site I'd never seen before (linking back of course) and it had a UBBC converter that I used and previewed once, but I didn't realize that where I had things like size=6 it was now super teeny tiny... I posted the ad and have regretted it ever since. I'm going to look like an idiot on that forum for all eternity. xD

*headdesks* Well, this is only the second time I remember really messing up an ad, but I just went and posted an ad on InvisionFree and right after went to a Proboards site that advertised on ours, and I forgot to copy the Proboards ad code. Now I look like a complete idiot, especially considering my site's on Proboards. *headdesks again*

And I know what you mean, Lovey. I think I know what site you're talking about, too. Did the exact same thing there. I should have just not been lazy and coded it myself. I could have just gone on LJ where I already had it HTML coded.

Oh well, I guess we all make mistakes on occasion. Now, back to advertising and hopefully I won't repeat the mistake.

I recently had a big mistake. I was advertising for two board as the moment, and put the wrong site name in the title. So there were two ads with my "Clannad: The Roleplay" in the title instead of two different titles. Had to get an mod or admin there to fix it for me.

Ooh, ad mistakes. The perfect thing to humble you a little right when you're all excited and proud of the website you just made, xD. I actually just made one today--misspelled a site link. Mistakes like that are a pretty common occurrence for me, sadly. =P

I've made a number of posting mistakes when doing ads before. Usually nothing too bad but if I did I post up a reply apologizing and asking if the staff could fix it if they have time. But eh I do so many advertisements I think I'm entitled to screw up now and then. XD Fortunately I've only made mistakes a few times... although I did post a my ad+a response to a rpg search on a site once by accident... that was the worst I've done. XD

Just so you know, I fixed it 8D

I made a huge mistake the other day. I was advertising/linking back and applying for a staff position on another site at the same time. Instead of posting the application form on the site where I was a member, and the ad where I was a guest, I posted them the wrong way around. So there's some ad out there that is an "applying for a staff position" form xD I asked the admin/mods to fix it, but I still feel incredibly stupid ^^;

Usually when I make mistakes, I make spelling errors, forget to put certain words in because my mind thinks faster than I can type, or I have grammar mistakes. I have also made the mistake of putting in the wrong guest name / site name because I search through past titles used to quickly get the thing together instead of type the whole thing out quickly.

I screw up A LOT. LOL. I hope I never got on any of you guy's nerves ^_^;;

My worst thing is that I advertise while I work on a project for my site. Like... Ahem. I'll have random text and stuff when I do copy-paste and press post reply. Then I see something about like an image and I'm like >> OHNOES! And I have to double post and say,

"sorry about that ^_^;; Working on a project for my site..."

I always feel so dumb! Especially when it's a link to a half-finished puppy or information about the upcoming new goodies or the contest post @_@ OMG, I do this too often...

Anyways, I always hit post reply too fast. I'm sure you've seen one of my mistakes before. You can laugh :) But I dunno, I try not to make them. You guys have such little mistakes. I'm jealous ^_^ I also forget [lb] in the title A LOT because well, I'm used to a link back board ^_^;; I really hope I didn't tick anyone off too much :)
