 Rate Posthuman
« Thread Started on Nov 6, 2009, 3:08pm »

Posthuman is a site that has been up for a few weeks now, and despite having about 14 members, we only have two active ones. I'd like to know why this is and, to that end, I'd like to receive a site rating.

The site can be found here:

Thank you very much!

Plot (8)

Comments: It's a great plot. It states everything you need to know, you get the feel and attitude of the world where people role play in, and you know exactly what the forum is all about.

Compliments: It is very well written. Nothing is confusing about it-it is all explained.

Advice:

It tells too much information in one place. The explanation of the things your describing is needed, but for example, you could take out The paragraph the begins "Yet there is a kernel of truth in every tall tale...." and it would be fine. Plots are the events of the story, or the back story in which role players add to. Your plot says just a little too much, with little room to change or create out of.

Rules (9)

Comments: No comments here. :)

Compliments: Rules make sense, you included just about everything that needs to be said.

Advice:

You didn't mention the activity limit. You titles the rules "Guidelines". The activity limit can be once a week (a very good limit) or 3 times a week (better) and it would help your site be more active, because if they really want to be on the site, they will follow it. Guidelines are something (or the way I see it) that guide you. You can either follow them if you need them, or try to break them without serious punishment. Don't get me wrong, I am not one to break rules. Describing Guidelines as rules might confuse a person. If it said Rules, it would be instantly followed, no questions asked.

Boards (9)

Comments:No comments

Compliments:The boards look awesome.

Advice: I suggest you get forum markers so it won't have that folder with a dot on it. :)

I am not a member, but I don't see a member introduction board. I only see a staff intro. If you do have an intro board, ignore this.

Most of the boards are role play. How about a place to keep in character letters, or even journals? Or just a place where people can be in character but no RP, like an In character chat. Just an idea :)

Have games and contests. Games can be fun and relaxing, contests can make members get involved. Prizes can be anything.

Spelling & Grammar (9)

Comments: Hard to find typos/mistakes

Compliments: Well written stuff. Good job :)

Advice:

I found a typo in the plot. "......increase a sense of smell, touch, taste, site"

I believe site is spelled sight.

Overall (9)

Thoughts On The Site As A Whole:

Very good forum. The idea and the layout is nice, I would join if I had more time.

Overall Suggestions:

As for the low activity, mass pm everyone to be more active or you will delete them (which you should) or make a rule for the activity limit. It's probably just because there is no reinforcement of activity. Or probably people who....joined but have no time??

If you have a post count contest (if a member gets up to _____ they win____) It usually works, if it does not, Put up an activity limit rule. Or mass email them that your going to have an activity check in X number of days. If that does not work, delete them and start fresh.

Total Score (44)

Comments & Suggestions

Make more thread that involve creativity, or personal. Start some general discussions, make a games board, keep circulating ideas until you find on that works.

Anything Else:

I hope your forum is successful.
